COOKIES AND LOCAL STORAGE
"Cookies" and local storage are pieces of information (data files) transferred to an individual's browser on their device when the device is used to visit a Website. These technologies are able to store a unique identifier for a device to allow a certain Internet site to recognize the device whenever the device is used to visit the Websites. These technologies may be used for many purposes by us and our third-party business partners, such as automatically collecting Websites Usage Information, enabling features, serving advertisements to you online and remembering your preferences. We may use cookies and other technologies to study traffic patterns on our Websites, to make it even more rewarding as well as to study the effectiveness of our customer communications. We may use cookies to customize your experience and provide greater convenience each time you interact with us. The information we store includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.
Cookies set by us on our Websites are called "first-party" cookies, used to help evaluate and enable performance and the secure functionality of our Websites. These may enable us to collect or remember certain usage data and data about your device. This may include data on website pages visited prior, during and after visiting our Websites, clicks or interactions made with the pages on our Websites, consents and preferences, time spent on our pages and date/timestamps of visits and interactions, device identifiers such as IP address or operating system type, and browser type.
We also use "third-party" cookies, which are cookies from a website domain other than our Websites. These are used for our Websites’ analytics, site functionality, security, and marketing efforts by sharing usage and device-related data with relevant third-parties.
We, and third-parties performing services on our behalf, may use cookies for security purposes (for example, in helping prevent fraud), to facilitate navigation, to display information more effectively, and to personalize your experience while learning about our services or franchise opportunities. Cookies further allow us to present to you the advertisements or offers that are most likely to appeal to you. We may also use cookies to track your responses to our advertisements and we may use cookies or other files to track your use of other websites.
Certain browsers or browser add-ons, such as Adobe Flash, may provide additional local data storage mechanisms that are used in a manner similar to cookies, and some of the content included on our Websites may make use of this local storage. For example, a Flash cookie is a data file placed on a device via the Adobe Flash plug-in that may be built into or downloaded by you onto your device. Flash cookies may be used for various purposes, including, without limitation, enabling a Flash feature and remembering your preferences. For more information about Flash and the privacy choices Adobe offers, visit http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager.html
Your Choices Regarding Cookies
The first time you visit one of our Websites and depending on your jurisdiction, you may be displayed a banner providing you with information about the use of cookies on our Websites, and options for how to opt-in or opt-out of certain cookies when you visit. This opting-in or opting-out can be done using our cookie consent center, which is accessed through the cookie banner you are presented. For example, you can opt-in or opt-out of certain categories of non-essential cookies (e.g., "Targeting Cookies" as described below), by turning the toggle on or off for these in the cookie consent center. You may also opt-out of third-party use of cookies and device identifiers in some instances with the relevant third-party directly or through your browser’s cookie settings.
Please note, if you block certain cookies, adjust your Flash privacy settings on your device, or otherwise restrict local storage, some parts of our Websites may not work correctly.
Types of Cookies on Our Websites
We use the following types of cookies for the following purposes:
Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are essential for you to browse our Websites and use their intended functionality, including accessing secure areas of our Websites. These cookies cannot be opted-in or out of.
Functional Cookies: These cookies enable the Websites to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies then some or all of these services may not function properly.
Social Media Cookies: These cookies are set by a range of social media services that we have added to the site to enable you to share our content with your friends and networks. They are capable of tracking your browser across other sites and building up a profile of your interests. This may impact the content and messages you see on other websites you visit. If you do not allow these cookies you may not be able to use or see these sharing tools.
Performance Cookies: These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our Websites. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around our Websites. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies, we will not know when you have visited our Websites.
Targeting Cookies:
These cookies may be set on our Websites by our advertising and marketing service providers. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements on other sites. They are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. This recognition is used to serve relevant advertisement, links, or other information about our products and services to users visiting other websites after having previously visited our Websites. If you consent to these cookies, you may experience targeted advertising.
Pixel Tags
Pixel tags are tiny graphic images or other web programming code that tell us what parts of our Websites customers have visited or to measure the effectiveness of searches customers perform on our Websites. Pixel tags and similar technologies may be used for a number of purposes, including, without limitation, to count visitors to a website, to monitor how users navigate the Websites, to count how many emails that were sent were actually opened or to count how many particular links were actually viewed. Pixel tags also enable us to send e-mail messages in a format customers can read.
Embedded Scripts
An embedded script is programming code that is designed to collect information about your interactions with the Websites, such as the links you click on. The code is temporarily downloaded onto your device from our server or a third-party service provider or business partner, is active only while you are connected to one of our Websites, and is deactivated or deleted thereafter.
Click Through URLs
In some of our e-mail messages we use a "click-through URL" linked to content on the Wet & Forget Websites. When a customer clicks one of these URLs, they pass through our web server before arriving at the destination web page. We track this click-through data to help us determine interest in particular topics and measure the effectiveness of our customer communications. In addition, we may use a variety of other technologies that collect similar information for security and fraud detection purposes.
How we Respond to "Do Not Track" Signals
Some Internet browsers may be configured to send "Do Not Track" signals to the online services that you visit. There is no consensus among industry participants as to what "Do Not Track" means in this context. Like many websites and online services, our Websites do not alter their practices when they receive a "Do Not Track" signal from a visitor's browser except as specifically required by law. To find out more about "Do Not Track," please visit http://www.allaboutdnt.com
